St. Mary’s School Choir
As you know we have been invited to take part in a concert with 'The Three Tenors- Ireland'in Monkstown on 23rd April. We will be performing a solo piece and joining with them to sing Hallelujah. Boys have been asked to practice this by clicking on this link.
Congratulations and Thank You
to the Peace Proms Choir :)
Well done to each and every member of the Peace Proms choir. You all sang
and danced your hearts out on Sunday night and you should be very proud of
yourselves. All your hard work has really paid off. Not only did you all
perform exceptionally well but both members of the audience and the
organisors of Peace Proms commented on how well you conducted yourselves.
A huge thank you is also due to your parents for all the support they gave us
over the last few months. I am very proud of every young man who took
part. WELL DONE!!!!
Here are some pictures from the concert day.
A view of where the orchestra and the audience will sit. This will be the biggest crowd we have ever sung for.
Relaxing after the rehearsal and enjoying the atmosphere before the show begins.

Peace Proms Workshop
I just want to thank the boys and say a huge well done to them for all the hard work they have been putting in lately. Our choir workshop went really well and the conductor Gearóid Grant thought that everyone was excellent. I will put up some photos to let you see the boys in action.
We do still have a lot of work to do perfect all of our lyrics and actions but most of all to perfect our harmonies so I encourage the boys to keep up their hard work!
You can follow this link to the Peace Proms website to practice the actions. The boys have been given the password.
On Sun 1st February the school choir will take part in the “Peace Proms”concert in the RDS Simmonscourt for the second time. The boys will perform with leading professional singers and conductors as well performing with a full symphony orchestra. This is a programme run by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. The people who playing in the symphony orchestra will be young teenagers from both north and south of the border.
The boys have been rehearsing all of their songs before school since October. They even learned some harmonies and dance moves. On the night they will be singing as part of a choir of 2,000 children. While most of the boys took part in the concert last year, we do have some new members this year. This link will give the new boys a good idea of what to expect at the concert.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVVubt66nKc
