Leo Robert show St. Patricks Day display

So much to celebrate in March!

It certainly was March of the many seasons - we had rain, sunshine and SNOW!!

We got ready for St. Patrick's Day and added our Frásaí  - 'Éire Abú!' agus 'Lá Fhéile Pádraig!' to our display board. Leo and Robert were keen to practice their flag-waving skills before the big day!

Spring has definitely sprung. We went on a lovely sunny Nature Walk to nearby Booterstown Park, and the boys recorded their finds by hula-hooping a patch of grass. Inside the circle, they spotted shamrock, nettles, daffodils, ivy, moss and even a wriggly worm!

Our lovely new boy, Shad, was so happy to find two Easter eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt.

On World Book Day, the boys dressed up as their favourite characters.

Harry Potter even gave Horrid Henry a lesson in good behaviour! I hope it works....

We learned all about St. Brigid this St. Brigid's Day, 1st February.

She loved nature, farming and animals, especially when all the baby animals - lambs and calves, were born in the Spring.

She was so kind, and always helped the poor and hungry. When they came to her looking for food, she never turned them away. She even gave away her mother's freshly churned butter to a starving woman, knowing that her mother would be angry with her. You see Brigid and her mother were also poor - they were slaves themselves. When her mother, Brocca, came home instead of no butter, there were three churns full of the creamiest butter! A miracle!

On St. Brigid's Day we decide to honour Brigid and  make her butter in our class. Making Brigids Butter Copy

There followed the Christmas themed Treasure Hunt - a brilliant initiative of The Student Council.

The boys were magnificent, and their teacher actually overheard a mammy saying our four dancers were like angels!

We're having a great start to our year together - Seniors 23/24. The boys explored their new classroom, and they all have their favourite Station.

A favourite story at the moment, loved by all, is the classic, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'.

The boys enjoyed creating their very own hungry caterpillars, using a paint and balloon printing technique.
