School & Class News

Education and Parenting news stories of interest on Classes & Newsletters

The boys all wrote down their thoughts on 'Why I Love My Grandparents', and we displayed them on our specially constructed art piece for the big event.

Colm's piece reads, 'They let me camp outside their house...!' Ethan De Mesa's says, 'They let me play basketball in the house..!' And Alex G. tenderly writes, 'They give me love..!'

Whos more scaredjpg

On Friday two lost T-Rex dinosaurs wandered into our classroom. They were so terrified when they saw all our ghouls, ninjas, wizards, zombies, and superheroes! They left at speed!!

We think Luka's hungry caterpillar was so greedy that he ate Ms. O Dea's lunch that day! Luka is one of our very talented artists...he's definitely one to watch!

Pikachu unmasked

The boys were delighted when they found their favourite Pokemon .... Yes!! Pikachu was in our classroom on Friday 25th of October, 2024...."Gotta catch 'em all!!"

Ethan is so proud of his Grandad's sporting medals, and guess what....he won them all as a past pupil in St. Mary's Boys' School when he was a little boy.

It was such a delight to meet so many grandparents on the day. We sang our songs, we gave them a lesson in Irish, (Oíche Shamhna), on the Interactive Screen, we asked them questions about their own experiences and memories of school. We all agreed that school nowadays is a much different, and possibly happier place for children!

The boys enjoyed exploring and working through their Morning Stations.

                                            The puppet station

Leo and Jamie have the puppets, 'Sharky' and 'Rex', in conversation....

Debbies Card

We made an adorable card with our thumbprints for our adorable and brilliant SNA, Debbie, on Thursday when we celebrated National SNA Appreciation Day. She didn't like it. She LOVED it!!

autum table

The boys had such fun creating their 'Signs of Autumn' table.

Every day they looked out for conkers, sycamore seeds, falling leaves, acorns, spider webs, pine cones, and animals preparing for hibernation.

They collected all these autumnal items and displayed them beautifully on the table.

Well done boys!!
