January has been a busy month, getting used to school life after the break, endless discussions on Santa and what he brought, embarking on our swimming journey and many more activities!

The boys have been lucky to have such an active January - we started doing our swimming lessons which has been so enjoyable and has given endless oppurtunites for learning outdoors as the boys spot different things in their locality and surrodings. We were also so lucky to have yoga in school as part of Wellbeing Wednesday which the boys adored. Lastly, Kilmacud Crokes have begun teahcing the boys skills related to GAA and they have loved it so far!

In Maths this month we have focused on time - the boys loved this!! We have been doing so many active learning in the yard estimating seconds, minutes, hours and days. The boys really loved using the clocks and showing each other what time they get up in the morning, go to school and their favourite what time school ends!!

The boys have been working on Recount Writing in English and have gotten so comfortable recounting their weekend independantly on a Monday and doing so well with their spelling and adding any new words we come across to our Word - Wall.

Lastly, we made St Brigid Crosses in 1st class and the boys loved it! We used pipe cleaners instead of rushes as iit would be nicer for the boys to remember this learning oppurtunity and also be able to show it to their friends and families!! Well done boys on the amazing work done in January, keep it up!!!
