In Maths, we are learning about area. Today we accessed interactive geoboards using the Chromebooks. We had to make shapes of an area given by our teacher. We then got to make our own pictures using the geoboards. In Music we made rain sticks. We learned that ancient cultures that lived in very dry areas in the world used rain sticks in ceremonies to make it rain! It is thought that rain sticks originated in South America. We will now compose some rhythms using the rain sticks but we really don't want it to rain! In SESE we investigated if different materials affected the speed of parachutes falling. We then wanted to find out if anything else might affect a parachute's fall so we carried out two more investigations: would the size of the canopy affect the speed at which a parachute fell and would the weight of the load affect the speed of the fall?
