School & Class News

Education and Parenting news stories of interest on Classes & Newsletters

September has been an extremely busy month for us all in Saint Mary's. The boys have all settled back really well into school and are  working very hard in their pods and bubbles. Our Junior Infant Class have settled in incredibly well and many  boys are already walking, scooting or cycling to school.

We thank all in the school community  for helping us keep our classes and school open.

The mild weather has allowed us to continue to enjoy the outdoors. Tennis and boxercise lessons have begun again and we look forward to the beginning of afterschool activities when the guidelines allow.

4th and 5th classes have gone kayaking on the Liffey. There has been a huge uptake in the number of students walking, scooting or cycling to school. This is fantastic. Please keep it up.

First class did a fantastic whole school Zoom Assembly on Saint Joseph. Well done to all. 5th classes have begun the "iHeart" wellbeing programme and really enjoyed their first workshop.

We have received the fantastic news that agreement, in principle, has been reached for the acquisition of Booterstown Parish Hall by the Department of Education. We thank the BNS Action Group for their trojan work here. We look forward to more news on the hall soon.

Finally, we wish our school secretary Geraldine all the best on her retirement. All the classes gave her a wonderful send off on Wednesday to reflect the high esteem we all hold her in for all her great work in Saint Mary's during her fourteen years.

Kind regards all.

Noel Scully.
