Congratulations to our 6th class who have  done a great job collating , editing and publishing their Halloween Newsletter. It covers GAA & football, Grandparents' Day, clubs & committees, school news , class news and where our old school uniforms are heading to.  Please see link . Student Halloween Newsletter

110kg of our old school jumpers, shirts and trousers have left Booterstown and are on their way to Zambia (to Antwerp on MV Elbfeeder and to Durban on MV Santa Isabel) with an estimated arrival date of 16 December. This has been a community initiative involving Sr Samba Sakungo of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary and Greg Fields of Transport Matters whose son, Guy Fields, is a past pupil of St Mary's.   Sr Samba continues to liaise with Bishop Mweempwa in Monze, and as a former teacher in the diocese, she knows that the clothing is not only needed by families but will be greatly appreciated too.Sincere thanks to  Eamonn, Lorraine and Laura who literally did the heaving lifting of boxes and pallets. The Student Council played a big role in collecting all the old school uniforms and organising them. It was lovely to meet Sr Samba and hear all about her teaching in Zambia. We hope she will visit the school again. We look forward to updating you once the shipment arrives, clears customs and is distributed!

Congratulations to our Senior Gaelic Football team on reaching their quarter final against Castleknock Educate Together School. We did not win our match, but we thank all the boys for representing our school so well. We congratulate the victors and wish them all the best in the rest of the tournament.  Again a big thank you to  all our teachers who volunteer their time for training and matches and for all our parents who provide lifts and look after our football kit.

We had Teacher Appreciation Day on October 4th. There were lots of treats in the staffroom for all our wonderful teachers.

The Green School Committee carried out a survey on how many students and teachers walk to school. We look forward to seeing their results.

The Student  Council held its first meeting and elected a chairperson, a secretary, a treasurer and a PRO (Public relations Officer).  The Council have applied for the Amber Flag and are looking at how to promote Wellbeing Wednesdays.

2nd to 6th class continue to be creative in maths as we work together to create word problems from "Headlines" given. A particular favourite headline was, " A fence is 20 m long." This gave us lots of opportunites to use trundle wheels, measuring tapes and explore how to work out the perimeter and area of real regular quadrilateral shapes e.g. a baskeball court, a window, a goal etc.

Congratulations to all the boys who won " Nice Ones" and Principal's Awards" during our two assemblies.

1st to 6th classes will start a new Irish Graded Reading Series called Léigh Liom.
