School Sports

St. Mary's B.N.S. is an active school where sport is promoted and is central to the life of the school.

Over the last number of years we, as an Active School, have been building up a very successful Athletics’ program in St. Mary’s BNS.

The boys have been given the opportunity to train in various disciplines such as sprinting, hurdles, long jump, shot putt and high jump. This has seen us become the winners of the inaugural Indoor Athletics for Primary Schools Championships in 2017.

We have also been very successful in the Cumann na mBunscol Athletics competitions in Santry Stadium over the last number of years. Individual boys have achieved numerous gold, silver and bronze medals in the various disciplines and in 2016 we were lucky enough to bring home the coveted trophy for both the U11 and U 12 relay team.

We continue to strive for success and look forward to boys trying their hand at new disciplines in the upcoming season.
