SCHOOL CLOSURE FOR SAINT BRIGID’S DAY:  Saint Mary’s BNS will be closed Monday 2nd February 2026 for Saint Brigid’s Day. We wish everyone a very Happy Saint Brigid's Day. Lá fhéile Bríde.

PREPARATION FOR SERVICE OF LIGHT: We want to remind you that the preparation evening for St Mary’s Boys’ Service of Light takes place this coming Wednesday the 4th of February at 6p.m in the Church of the Assumption Booterstown and the actual Service of Light will take place the following week on  Wednesday the 11th of February at 6p.m. You are not required to bring anything to the preparation session though it is really important that all the boys attend along with one parent.   We look forward to seeing you all then.

KNOW YOUR CHURCH TOURS: As mentioned to you at the recent meeting on Thurs 8th of Jan, all the boys and girls preparing for the Sacrament of  Confirmation are invited to attend a tour of the Church entitled ‘Know Your Church’ this weekend. Two volunteers from the Parish have very kindly offered to facilitate these tours which will take place on Saturday  the 31st of Jan at 5p.m and again on Sunday the 1st of February at 10a.m and we would strongly encourage your son/daughter to attend one of these. The parish have asked that at least one parent accompany each candidate to the tour to comply with best practices around Health and Safety. Kind regards, Fiona Henry and Catherine Balance. INFORMATION MORNING FOR PARENTS OF INCOMING JUNIOR INFANTS 2026-2027:  Saint Mary's BNS will host a Welcome Information Session  for all incoming parents on Friday 6th February 2026 from 09:00-10:00.The Information Session will be hosted by the Principal,  the current Junior Infant teacher  and members of our Student  Council.  Amongst many matters the session will cover: what a typical day looks like in Junior Infants; active teaching & learning; independence, resilience & wellbeing; hot lunches; our school ethos; child safeguarding; schoolbooks, resources & uniforms; afterschool activities; Booterstown Morning and Afternoon Childcare Services and the New Primary Curriculum Framework. Tea and coffee will be served and you will get an opportunity to meet other parents and  members of our Parents' Association.  The morning is for parents/ guardians only. Nearer the end of the school year we will host a morning for your child to come in and visit his new classroom with his new uniform. We really look forward to seeing you all on Friday 6th February at 09:00.
