Our Student Council met with the Chairperson of the BOM and other board nominees  to give their annual report to the BOM about what they did throughout the school year. The Student Council  had an agenda and a 6th class student chaired the meeting. The meeting started with everyone introducing themselves and explaining their role on the BOM or on the Student Council. The Student Council outlined that they had written a student friendly Bí Cineálta Policy,  applied for the Amber flag & raised funds for Pieta House. The Student Council also outlined the activites they carried out on Wellbeing Wednesdays: Bingo, Drop Everything and Dance, Wellbeing Wednesday Active Homework, teacher and SNA Swap, Line dancing, Yoga Day, Music & Fáilteoirí at the school gates and many other activities. The Student Council placed  suggestion boxes in every classroom, went through them every month and organised events based on these suggestions.  The chairperson of the BOM and all the other BOM nominees thanked the Student Council for their very hard work, great ideas and leadership skills.

Congratulations to our Student Council who received their first Amber Flag. The Student Council received this feedback," The Amber Flag Committee has shown great commitment in promoting positive mental health by encouraging teamwork and contributions from peers. Our team has thoroughly enjoyed seeing the results of your efforts through the wonderful initiatives you organised. We hope that by taking part in the Amber Flag initiative, you will continue to raise awareness of stigmas which exist and the stressors on our collective mental and emotional wellbeing. Thank you once again for all your hard work. We hope that the Amber Flag has impacted positively on everyone involved. It has been a real honour working with you all this year."

Congratulations to our Green School Committee. They have  just been awarded their Global Citizenship- Marine Environment Flag. To celebrate the Green School Committee hosted a whole school assembly where they outlined all the initiatives they carried out in the school over the past two years; beach cleaning, surveys, poster competitions, upcycling Xmas decorations, organising class presentations &  external workshops. The committee held a quiz this morning and judging by the answers the boys are all very knowledgeable about our marine environment and how to protect it.  The Green School Committee also met with the BOM and gave a report of the activities they carried out this year. Congratulations to all again on the Green School Committee for their great leadership skills and trojan work. Maith Sibh.
