We've just completed procedural writing in Third Class.
First we read some recipies and instructions in our text books and discussed the features of procedural writing. Next we started to plan our own piece of writing. In pairs, we constucted a small LEGO structure using no more that 10 pieces of Lego. Our aim was to write a procedure for our LEGO and see could someone else follow it and make the same thing.
We came up with a title, made a list of the pieces needed and wrote down a step by step method on how to make the structure. After we drafted, edited and published our final pieces, we swapped procedures and attempted to make each others.
