'Morning Stations' is always a fun start to the day, where the boys have hands-on learning about a subject of their choice - Musical Instruments, Sentence Construction, Phonic Challenges, Adding in my Head with Darts, Reading, Writing & Drawing Station, Lego & STEAM Construction, Labelling the Castle parts, puppet retell, and so much more..!
The boys got off to a great start as they explored their new classroom. Luis and Henrik construct a rippling, domino chain reaction! James is absorbed in connecting a very impressive new pipe system.

On a beautiful autumnal morning, we headed off to Booterstown Park to look for 'Signs of Autumn'.
There was great excitement!
The boys spread out and searched high and low. They knew exactly what to look out for. And indeed, they found what they were looking for...blackberries, spider webs, fallen leaves, acorns, pine cones nibbled by squirrels getting ready to hibernate, helicopter/sycamore seeds, horse-chestnuts/conkers, and an actual squirrel up in the trees, and believe it or not two boys are certain they spotted a hedgehog in the bushes...!
They checklisted their finds into their books, and we headed back to the school, delighted and ready for a well-earned lunch.
Henry spots some autumn muscrooms - he's such a funguy!!!

We decided to continue with the autumn theme and the boys completed their 'Autumn Trees' using broccoli florets to create a realistic leafy effect.
They chose red, brown, yellow and orange paint to highlight the true colours we all see at this time of the year.
Good job boys!!
