We are very lucky in our school to have such a beautiful and safe walk through the park as we headed to Blackrock Library.
The children really enjoyed the stroll and it gave us a chance to look out for signs of spring along the way.
We spotted daffodils and buds appearing on the trees. One of the boys said he spotted a frog!
Librarians, Caitríona and Pauline , organised a wonderful workshop for the boys.
The children had the opportunity to explore the library, browse the shelves and choose books that appealed.
Caitríona read her favourite Dr. Zeuss book to the boys.
Pauline remarked how well behaved the boys were and allowed each boy to borrow a book of their choice for two weeks.
A great start to World Book Day!
To celebrate, some of the children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters or in cosy pjs.
We spent time reading and sharing some of our favourite books, and talked about the books we love.
Dillon's "David Beckham" book was a big hit. Luca loved "Snoopy", and everyone loved "Mr. Grumpy"!
The boys got very creative with their hand made Valentine's Day cards for February 14th.....Literally!!
They finger-painted each family member on the card, and sealed it with lovely messages and hearts.
Its been a wonderful few weeks in Senior Infants - learning, exploring, creating and lots of fun!!
