We've had a great start to our new school year.

How lucky we are to have Booterstown Park located so near our school.

We headed there on a Nature Walk last week to check out some signs of autumn - and we we weren.t disappointed!

'We found a cobweb....and here comes the spider!'

The boys spotted blackberries, acorns, chestnuts, fallen leaves, sycamore seeds, (helicopters), pine cones, cobwebs - and spiders attached!

A grey squirrel was spied high up in the tree canopies. We looked for a hedgehog in the hedgerows and among the leaf litter, and we were very careful not to disturb a hibernating hedgehog. If it wakes up too many times, it could starve or freeze before spring. Even though we didn't uncover a hedgehog in the end, the boys completed their 'Signs of Autumn' checklist very happily!

Getting through the checklist!

We are enjoying hurling practice every Tuesday with our GAA coach, developing our skills, coordination and teamwork.

After reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', a favourite of the boys - each child painted their own colourful caterpillar.

Viewing our caterpillars

After our Nature Walk in Booterstown, the boys were inspired to get creative and made their own hedgehog collages, exploring different materials and textures.

Well done boys!
