We've had a great start to our new school year.
How lucky we are to have beautiful Booterstown Park located minutes from St. Mary's.
We headed there on a Nature Walk last week to check out signs of autumn, and we weren't disappointed.
The boys spotted blackberries, acorns, chestnuts, fallen leaves, sycamore seeds, (helicopters), pine cones, cobwebs - and spiders! A squirrel was spied high up in the tree canopies. We looked for a hedgehog in the hedgerows and among the leaf litter, but we were very careful not to disturb a hibernating hedgehog. If it wakes too many times, it could starve or freeze before spring. Even though we didn't find a hedgehog in the end, the boys completed their 'Signs of Autumn' checklist very happily!
