St Mary's Student Council had its annual AGM meeting on  with our school Board of Management. It was a very successful meeting. The Student Council explained that the Council uses the Lundy Model for its meetings and that the Lundy Model enables the Student Council to have space, voice, audience and influence.

The New Primary Curriculum Framework has 7 key competencies. The Student Council used these 7 competencies as a framework for their AGM. Each member of the Council took a competency and explained to the BOM what the school and the Student Council were doing to implement each competency in Saint Mary's. The Student Council spoke about:being well; being a digital learner, being mathematical; being a communicator and using language; being creative; being an active learner and finally being an active citizen. The Student Council gave examples of how they help implement each competency in our school and gave practical examples e.g. Well Being Wednesdays, the Amber Flag Committee, the Green School Committee, Spanish Classes, Ronda's Four Freedoms in Maths and Spanish classes.

At the end of the meeting the Student Council outlined their main goals for this academic year and they then had a question and answer session with the Board of Management. The BOM was asked about how they follow the Lundy Model of space, voice, audience & influence and how these help Saint Marys implement and embed the 7 competencies of the Primary Curriculum Framework.
