SEACHTAIN NA GAEILGE: Seachtain na Gaeilge 2024 runs from March 1st until March 17th this year.St. Mary’s Boys’ National School is, as always, very proud to celebrateSeachtain na Gaeilge, with a range of activities taking place in school next week, such as ‘Raidió na Scoile’ (school radio) each day, ‘Tráth na gCeist’(quiz) for senior classes, ‘Biongó’ (bingo) and a focus to speak as much
Irish as we can. Friday 14th is also a ‘Lá Glas’ where the boys are asked to wear as much
green clothing as they can! We will hold a ‘Paráid na Naíonáin’ in the school yard with all other classes cheering them on!

BÍ CINEÁLTA PARENT SURVEY: From September 2025 all primary schools in Ireland will have a new Bí Cineálta/ Anti Bullying Policy. To help us formulate our school policy we would really appreciate your thoughts and help in completing this survey for Saint Mary's. An email has been sent out to all parents with the survey. The survey will be open from Monday March 3rd until Monday March 17th 2025. We would really appreciate if you took the time to complete it and share your views.
BARNARDOS ONLINE SAFETY PARENTS' WEBINARS: Barnardos hold two free monthly webinars for parents to help them feel empowered to keep their children safe online. Parents can register themselves at a time and date convenient to themselves. BÍ CINEÁLTA STAFF TRAINING DAY SCHOOL HALF DAY: Saint Mary’s BNS will close on Friday the 14th March at 12:00 for all students. All staff will remain in school for staff training in the new Department of Education “BÍ CINEÁLTA” anti-bullying programme.
PRIMARY MATHS TRAINING DAY FOR TEACHERS: Our Primary Maths Training Day 2 is taking place in your school on Monday 28th April 2025. The school will be closed on that day for all students. Please note this adds an extra day to the Easter Holidays for students.
ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY: Our school gates open to students at 08:25 and classes begin from 08:35. We ask that all students get into school by 08:35.
