HOT LUNCHES: Nourish and Green will begin hot lunches  in Saint Mary's BNS on Wednesday 26th November 2025.The boys have been told the news and are very ecxited about getting onto the portal with you and ordering their hot lunches. The children need to bring in their own lunches on Monday and Tuesday. An information leaflet on how to order lunches, meal selections, installing the app, cancelling meals  etc.Please also see instructions on how you input your child's allergens has been sent via Aladdin..Chicken is the only halal meat dish. Snacks for the small break may be ordered and paid for on the portal.Otherwise, please continue to give your child a small healthy snack and drink as you are already doing.If your child is going to be absent please see in the attached document how you can cancel meals or block off days and within what timeframes. Please note that hot lunches will not be served on the school half days of the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays. (19th December,  27th March and 26th June.)If your child has school trip for the full school day hot lunches will not be served to their specific class that day. SAVE THE DATES: We are happy to inform you of the dates and times of our Christmas performances. Pupils from 2nd - 6th Classes will participate in our Senior Carol Service which will take place on Tuesday 16th December at 7:00 pm in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Booterstown Ave. More information will follow at a later date. Junior performances will take place in the Old School Hall on Grotto Ave. on the following dates:

Junior Infants: Tuesday 16th December at 12:00 pm
Senior Infants:  Wednesday 17th December at 12:00 pm
1st Class: Thursday 18th December at 1:00 pm

TEAM HOPE SHOEBOX APPEAL: A heartfelt thank you for your generosity shown in supporting the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox appeal this year..The shoeboxes were all collected today and will shortly be on their way to the very welcoming arms of vulnerable children overseas who may never have received a gift previously.Team Hope are very grateful for your continued support.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION AGM: The Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Parents’ Association took place in the school on Wednesday 19th November 2025 at 8pm.  At the AGM the PA presented the financial accounts and outlined the many activities that have been undertaken over the past year with the funds that they raised. They have a schedule of events and planned initiatives which they are hoping will raise money. The PA would invite you to share your suggestions on worthy projects in the school which would benefit from future funding.  At the AGM the Parents’ Association Committee for the 2025/2026 academic year was nominated and elected. New appointees will assume their roles following the AGM. The Parents’ Association is open to all parents and guardians of children enrolled in the school. Its function is to develop an active partnership with the school’s authorities and to represent parents and guardians in the decision-making processes relating to the school for the betterment of the boys’ primary school experience at St. Mary’s Boys National School.  The PA hopes that as many of you as possible can join them throughout the year and help them in the evnmets they porganise. 

PARENT TEACHER MEETINGS: Our school parent/teacher meetings will take place in the week of November 24th-28th 2025. The main day for meetings will be Wednesday 26th November. The teacher will set up a signup sheet on Aladdin with dates, days and times of meetings. This will be released to you on Tuesday 11th November 2025.  The deadline for signing up for a meeting is one week later, Tuesday 18th.You will receive a questionnaire from your child's class teacher on Thursday 6th of November which you may complete and return to the teacher outlining any queries you may have for the PT meeting. This will be in his school bag. Please return this questionnaire to the class teacher by Thursday 13th November. A copy of this questionnaire is also attached. The class teacher will give you a written report of your child's progress on the day of your meeting.

 JUNIOR INFANT ADMISSIONS FOR 2026/2027: We are delighted to announce that enrolment for Junior Infants for 2026/2027 opened on Wednesday 15th of October. The Admissions Notification, Admission Policy and Code of Behaviour are on our website. Enrolment is done online via our school website on the school Admissions tab. Please see link to Admissions. We ask you to let all your friends and neighbours, in and outside our parish, know that Saint Mary’s is currently enrolling.

PRIMARY SCHOOL SURVEY FOR PARENTS: HAVE YOUR SAY: We are asking you as a parent or guardian of children in primary school to ‘Have Your Say’ about your primary school.
