Recently in sixth class the children have been working scientifically. Through completing a number of experiments, they were developing their skills of predicting, exploring, planning and evaluating. The pictures attached to this article relate to experiments that explored the strand, energy and forces. Our experiment with ice-cream explored the idea that heat energy can be transferred. Our experiment around gravity investigated the idea that objects have weight because of the pull of gravity.
Sixth class have been learning about The Gaelic Athletic Association in both Literacy and History. So, we decided to take a visit to the home of Ireland's largest amateur sporting and cultural organisation. Jack, our guide gave us a wonderful tour of the stadium. He spoke about events such as Bloody Sunday and was able to answer any of the questions the boys had.
