FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: We congratulate all the candidates who made their First Holy Communion last Saturday in the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown. It was a lovely school community occasion. We thank all the candidates who read and sang so well. We thank our parish catechists Catherine Ballance and Fiona Henry and class teacher Tommy O Keeffe for the huge amount of work they put in preparing the candidates for this special day. Special thanks also to Aoife Cartwright & Pilar Foradellas for conducting and helping the choir who sang so beautifully throughtout the ceremony.  We thank Dominic, the church sacristanfor all his help and Msgr. Ciarán O Carrroll and Fr Gerard Tyrrell who led the mass. We hope everyone had a wonderful celebration afterwards.

COUNTY PHOTOS:  County photos will visit the school on Friday 30th May from 12:00 to take photos of Confirmation and First Holy Communion candidates and their classmates.

CONFIRMATION:  Firstly, we want to begin by congratulating all the boys on their wonderful participation at last night's Confirmation celebration. From the moment the ceremony began to the very last words spoken with such sincerity by Monsignor Ciarán, the boys were so reverent and so engaged in all aspects of the liturgy making the whole ceremony such a wonderful celebration for us all. Special thanks to their class teachers, Jeanne Marie Phillips and Judy Doyle and the SNA, Lynne Cole, for all their hard work and commitment in preparing the boys at school and to the choir, under the direction of Aoife Cartwright, for their beautiful singing throughout the ceremony. It was a real pleasure for us to work with the boys and indeed with you as well and we couldn't have been prouder of them last night. We look forward to meeting you all again on Sat the 7th of June at the 6pm vigil Mass back in Booterstown Church when the parish will have an opportunity to celebrate with the boys at Mass and afterwards over light refreshments in the Parish Centre. With renewed thanks and kind regards. Catherine Ballance and Fiona Henry Catechists for Booterstown Parish.

CARS ON GROTTO PLACE & GROTTO AVENUE: It has come to our attention that more cars are been driven at speed up Grotto Avenue & Grotto Place. We kindly request that parents/ guardians/ grandparents and minders do not drive their cars down Grotto Avenue at drop off or collection time. This helps keep all our children , school community and all our neighbours safer. We also ask that all adults help their children use the paths provided and not walk on the roads or conjugate on the road at drop off and collection times.

COUNTY PHOTOS:  County photos will visit the school on Friday 30th May from 12:00 to take photos of Confirmation and First Holy Communion candidates and their classmates.

HOT LUNCHES: We have been approved for hot lunches. We are in the process of setting up a focus group and getting in companies and sampling their food. We have six students for the Hot Lunches Focus Group; three from the Student Council and three from 4th class. We have three nominees of the Board of Management. We have 3 teachers. We have parents/guardians. We are in the process of contacting companies. We are also establishing an agreed criterion to assess each company and their food e.g. Where is the food made? Are all ingredients listed? Are there any additives?  What is done in the case of Allergies? What happens to food that is not eaten? What menus choices are available and when should orders be placed? Are there vegetarian options? We hope to have the hot lunches scheme up and running for our return in August. The Hot Lunches Focus Group will feedback to you over the coming weeks on their findings and agreed selection.
