Junior Infants had a fantastic day out on their school trip to the National Maritime Museum in Dún Laoghaire!
The adventure began on the DART, where the children got to experience travelling by train. They watched the stations go by, learned how tickets and platforms work, and practised travelling safely and responsibly as a group.
At the museum, our brilliant guide brought Ireland’s maritime history to life. The children explored old ships, signals, maps and stories of the sea, asking wonderful questions and showing great curiosity throughout the tour.
This trip linked beautifully with our SESE learning, giving the children a real-world experience of transport, history, and community places. It also supported key social skills, including taking turns, listening to instructions, cooperating with classmates, and showing respect in a public space.
A big well done to Junior Infants for representing the school so well—and a special thank you to our guide and all the adults who helped on the day. A memorable outing for everyone!
