Junior Infants have had an incredibly busy and exciting Autumn, packed with learning, creativity and lots of fun.

We’ve been enjoying rugby coaching, building our teamwork, coordination and confidence. Our regular trips to the school library have helped us develop a love of stories, while in class we’ve been working hard on our phonics and early literacy, exploring new sounds, blending, and beginning to read simple words. We’ve also been learning all about autumn—noticing the changing weather, exploring seasonal colours in nature, and talking about animals preparing for winter.

Creativity has been at the heart of our days. The children have produced beautiful artwork, performed imaginative puppet shows, and taken part in music, rhymes and drama, helping them develop language, expression and rhythm. Our STEM activities have encouraged problem-solving, building and experimenting, giving the children lots of hands-on ways to explore how things work. We’ve also continued to strengthen our fine motor skills through cutting, threading, drawing and other practical tasks that support early writing and independence.

It has been a joyful and productive Autumn in Junior Infants. We’re so proud of the curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm the children bring to their learning every day!
